Ethos Team

Hello, we hope you all had a lovely summer.

We are all settled back in school after our summer holiday and we are all settling into our new classes. Our new children in reception are all settling well and seem to be enjoying themselves and we also have several new children who have moved into other classes in school. We are sure they will enjoy our school as much as we do. We have also had lots of children who left for High School visiting us they all seem to be happy but say they get too much homework!

Before we broke up for summer we had a visit from Eric Cohen who worked with Y6 talking about the holocaust and how it affected his family. Y6 said it really made them reflect and value their lives and realised just how much we take for granted. Eric then spent the afternoon in reception doing some work on the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

In July Mrs Ellis left to continue her teaching career in a school nearer her home in Southport. We will miss her and wish her every success and happiness. We also said a fond farewell to Miss Whiting who worked with us as a teaching assistant for 12 months and loved it so much she has gone to train as a teacher. Good luck Miss Whiting.

In the first week back we had a whole school visioning day when we looked at Bible quotes and chose one we felt best represented or school. We chose:

'Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path' – Psalm 119 v105

We have lots to look forward to this term and we will be celebrating Harvest with a service in church on 4th October and our Carol concert will take place in church on 10th December.
